🧀 Coconut & Flaxseed Breaded Mozzarella Sticks

A crunchy, healthy twist on a classic cheesy snack!

These baked mozzarella sticks are not only incredibly crispy on the outside and perfectly gooey on the inside — they’re also gluten-free, low-carb, and packed with nutrients. Using coconut flour and flaxseed meal instead of traditional breadcrumbs gives this snack a nutty, slightly sweet flavor while boosting its fiber and omega-3 content. It’s a guilt-free option perfect for parties, kids’ lunches, or a cozy movie night treat.


Ingredients

  • 400g mozzarella cheese, cut into sticks or cubes
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • Coconut flour (for coating)
  • Ground flaxseed (for coating)
  • Olive oil or parchment paper (for baking tray)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Lightly coat the mozzarella pieces in coconut flour.
  3. Dip into beaten eggs, then roll in flaxseed meal.
  4. For an extra-crispy coating, repeat the egg and flaxseed step.
  5. Place the cheese sticks on a baking tray lined with parchment paper or greased with olive oil.
  6. Bake for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown.
  7. Let cool for 2–3 minutes before serving.

Tips

  • For a fun variation, insert wooden sticks before baking to create cheese skewers.
  • Serve with sugar-free marinara, garlic aioli, or spicy sriracha mayo.
  • Want them even crispier? Add a touch of grated Parmesan to the flaxseed mix!
